MISS NEW ZEALAND 2011 - FESTIVAL OF BEAUTY is New Zealand’s annual premier Beauty Pageant event intended to choose the most deserving girls in the land to represent and compete at the most prestigious and biggest pageants in the world, namely: MISS WORLD (Beauty with a Purpose), MISS EARTH (Beauties for a Cause), MISS INTERNATIONAL (Achieving World Peace Through Mutual Understanding), MISS TOURISM QUEEN INTERNATIONAL (Tourism and Cultural Aspects), & MISS SUPRANATIONAL.
Many of the top contestants will also attend other Major Beauty Pageants throughout Asia and Europe throughout 2011 - 2012. New Zealand Asia Pacific Trust, a Charitable entity in New Zealand, organises and runs this Pageant, with Pro?ts going to Children's Charities. This years theme is “Save a Child?s Life - Make a Child Beautiful” The Charity of Choice for this year is ROMAC (Rotary Oceania Medical Aid For Children) which provides free medical assistance to Underprivileged children in need of Major Surgery. (For further information go to www.romac.org.au).
NZAPT is run entirely by unpaid volunteers comprising a Board of Trustees, Management Committee and members, without whom we would not be able to survive.
Regarding the Pageant itself, contestants must agree to raise money for Charity as part of their participation and the person who raises the most will be crowned "Miss Beauty With a Purpose” and will fast-track into the finalist round. The majority of our sponsors are small businesses with big hearts although as our credentials are more and more recognised, philanthropists are beginning to give us support. The Trust receives no financial support from Government, despite the obvious boost to Tourism that our winners project when they compete overseas.
The final event this year will be held at Alexandra Park Function Centre on Saturday April 30 2011. It will be a Black Tie Formal Event with a similar format to our last years sell-out event at Sky City Convention Centre.
